The Black Dahlia (2006)

Mr. Fire Vs Mr. Ice

A story told by Mr. Ice, and it is a about Mr. Fire and Mr. Ice himself with the mysterious lady, the Black Dahlia not beteween them but in the middle of them. This film is some depressive, so it is not suit for girls. Nevertheless, it is a great one based on the novel with the same name.
The posts can not be loaded. There is something wrong.

Step Up (2006)

He has the ability to make a success, when he got the opportunity he made it. A common story but with wonderful dance, director Anne Fletcher did it. As I saw the film I knew the results. But I like the dancing in the film much even though I know nothing about dancing.
You watch it, you like it and you gonna fall in love with dancing. Just do it.
May you be interested in Anne’s some other films like Ice Princess (2005)

The Last Drop (2005)

The Last Drop, one of my frieds recommends it to me. It is just so so. It happened in Holland during World War II and people tried to protect the art treasures from being taken away by Nazi, like “The Train (1964)”.

Little Miss Sunshine (2006)

The yellow bus carried the family- grandpa, a cokefiend; papa, a loser teaching people 9 steps to succeed; uncle, a homosexuality and suicide; brother, aiming to keep silence tile he became a pilot; Olive, little Miss Sunshine and her Mum. It brought the family’s dream, even though the family is fulfilled with problems. They drove for they can’t afford flying for the contest. They came together because they’re a family. On their way there, grandpa died of drugs. They stole his body from the hospital and kept going on. One occasionally test by Olive for Dwayne was color blind and broke his drams to be a pilot. Olive persuaded him to go with them for the contest. Unfortunately they’re late for four or five minutes. Father Richard kneeled to beg for a chance for his daughter. All the others were too excellent that Richard and Dwayne tried to stop Olive and persuaded her to give up. Her mum and she insisted on doing that. Olive showed a dance, a exotic dance, coached by her grandpa. It shocked all the audiences. She lost without doubt and had to promise no longer joining the race again. She lost but she’s brave enough and she showed herself. The way they American, teaching a child is fair different from that in China.

Ghost Busters (1984)

All the King's Men (2006)

Nail em up! Nail em up! People yell following Willie Stark ( cast by Sean Penn). He, a man of integrity and passion, lost his job for his honest. He’s now throwing his hat in the ring of governor of State LOUISIANA. He won supports from the poor as he did what they wanted, food, roads, bridges, new schools and so forth. He kept Tiny together with him to remind him of something he never gonna forget. He’s god damn a genius. As he said “when they come around, sweet talking, don’t listen.”, he chose the opponent side from Tiny.
Jack Burden (cast by Jude Law), a journalist gave Willie Stark great help and became his assistant after he quit his job. Why did Willie choose him? He’s talented, handsome,a hard working guy? Or he had helped Willie when he’s working in the press. I have no idea. Maybe he stood the upper ten or he had some relationship. His godfather (Starred by Anthony Hopkins), is Judge Irwin. In fact he is his father not godfather. Jack heard that from his mother after he “killed” father. Then he found the truth and all the past.
What is the hell politic? Cheating? Fighting? Money? Honor?
This film is reduplication of the Best Movie of Oscar in 1949. It is interesting that the director and the writer have never seen the original one.
Some words from the film:
Time brings all things to light.
To find something, anything, a great truth or a lost pair of glasses, you must first believe there will be some advantage in finding it.
You only get a couple of moments that determine you life, sometimes only one. And then it’s gone, forever.
What you don’t know won’t hurt you. While I don’t agree with the last word which Jack said. More details can be found in the “Sacred Bull”.

Carlito's Way (1993)

There's a line you cross, you don't never come back from, point of no return.
I didn't recognize that Carlito was the super star Al Pacino. Nevertheless the accent is too familiar to me. The voice is attractive. He always played in the role as a big boss. And in this tale he was released and made up his mind to be a good man, keep away from drug and violence, earn his $75, 000 and go with his lover. Unfortunately he was killed by the guy who should have been killed by Carlito just as he and his lover was leaving by train.
It's his way.
Another super star Sean Penn ( I am Sam), played as his lawyer.

Luck

The Cover

What's Luck Got to Do With It: Twelve Entrepreneurs Reveal the Secrets Behind Their Success (Ernst & Young)

Editorial Reviews
Book DescriptionJim McCann started with a flower shop on the side and ended up with 1-800-FLOWERS, the world's largest florist.
Joanna Lau transformed a money-losing $7-million company into a profitable, diversified business with $56 million in annual revenues.
Ted Waitt started Gateway 2000 on his family's cattle farm in Iowa and in less than ten years is running a billion-dollar company.
What do they know that you don't know?
What's Luck Got To Do With It? gives you an inside look at how renowned entrepreneurs turned ideas into breakthrough successes. The twelve men and women profiled are pacesetters in industries as diverse as retailing, high tech, manufacturing, flowers, and golf clubs. Each is a compelling personality with an unusual success story. Each provides candid accounts in his or her own words of what it took —how, when, where —to overcome the odds.
You'll read revealing stories about their ups and downs, turning points, key decisions, and wrong turns, as well as the part played by coincidence, serendipity, and just plain luck. You'll learn how they dared to be different—whether it's a new way to market computers or make yogurt, deliver high-tech solutions or sell flowers, merchandise microelectronics or counsel employees. You'll read about Ely Callaway, the epitome of the lifelong entrepreneur, who's succeeded in textiles, wine, and, most recently, golf clubs, and refuses to stop having "fun" working. He's come out of retirement twice to score against-the-odds successes each time. "It's a challenge and a lot of fun to develop a conviction about something you think you can do that everyone thinks you can't," says Callaway. "That's what makes it more fun."
For Pleasant T. Rowland, it was a determination to provide quality products for little girls that propelled her from ground zero to a quarter-billion-dollar business. "No one, especially an entrepreneur, should ever underestimate the importance of luck in a successful career. I believe that luck and strength go together. You must have the strength to wait for luck and when you get lucky, you must have the strength to follow through."
What do these twelve risk takers have in common besides their inspiring success stories? Carefully selected by a distinguished panel of judges, they have received the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the YearR® Award and were chosen as representatives of the more than 3,000 entrepreneurs who have received the award since its creation in 1986. What's Luck Got To Do With It? is a compelling, eye-opening look into how these twelve people captured a piece of the American Dream.
The Entrepreneurial Services practice of Ernst & Young is dedicated to owner-managed and middle-market businesses. It consults in the areas of finance, taxes, accounting, business planning, information systems, and international expansion.
"This powerful, fascinating book reveals a microcosm of our country —past, present, and future. These remarkable people are truly proactive visionaries who create concepts, not just problem solve." — Dr. Stephen R. Covey, author of the bestseller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
"These twelve stories are so important because they demonstrate what one person can achieve with a simple idea, an opportunity, and the uncommon passion that transforms inspiration into a winning enterprise." —Debbi Fields, founder, Mrs. Fields Cookies

A Scanner Darkly(2006)

A Scanner Darkly, from a Sci-fi novel. Damn! Substance D, a kind of drug, brings them to a visionary world. It's difficult to understand what does the story tell. It is the olny shinging spot that such a animation looks like the real people starred one.

Unfaithful

He is a man of integrity.
She is a beauty with a 9-year-child.
The stranger is a handsome young guy.
All sins source from a strongly windy day.
The happy family life is ruined.
PS There are too many sexual dramas.

Copycat

When I see the name I am puzzled why give the movie such a title. Do cats like to imitate? The old saying says that it is the curiosity kills the cat. This time the cat was died of copying. The talented young man copyed the famous serial killers, such as Alber Desalvo, Bianchi and Buono Berkowitz, Dahmer, Ted Bundy… As Dr. Helen says they were all quiet, unassuming, even nice. True, these guys are nice ones. It is said that nine out of the serial killers are white males, age 20 to 35. Of course it is in the US, not in China or some other Asia or Africa countries.
More details are here.

Any Given Sunday

Football is a crazy game. To be honest, I know nothing about that. But I like movies about sports. It is full of energy and excitement. Crazy guys fight like beasts. One lost one of his eyes, while others scarred or bleed, or even get broken. They still stick on as they stay on the ground. They fight for inch and inch. I don't know what the quantenback exactly mean but I know it is the top spot, the team leader, the one who leads the team, 12 guys, for one and another "touch down", never give up, do all they can and succeed. They make it.
We've been in some tough places and the bible says that the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike. All we need do is to fight for that. And we can make it if we have a try.

How do you feel?

Vietnam, the nightmare to the US army. When the father found his government did nothing but the negotiation, he tried to rescue his son with the help of his son's fellows in the army. Several died in the action and his son had already been died of illness before he arrived there.
All the plan was rehearsed but things are always not the same as they should be. Nevertheless, all the preparations are helpful. Succeed for full preparations.
Something more about "Uncommon Valor" When I search for it I find three results. It may tell something.

Sacred Bull

"Sacred Bull", I found this book in the library all by chance. It is one of the best books I like so much and it does help me much. Such like, let me know exactly what I am doing, what do I really want. It likes a guidebook for my life. Anyone who has chance to read it, just goes ahead. You'll find it a friend lifelong with its name "Sacred Bull: The Inner Obstacles That Hold You Back at Work and How to Overcome Them ". It's as interesting as its cover if you watch it over. The bull is in everyone's mind if only he is a human being.

Show

The Boxer

"Bang", as the gun shot, Harry, the trouble maker, who stuck to bombing terrorist activities, fell down. While, the boxer and ex-terrorist, Danny Flynn (Daniel Day-Lewis), was still alive. Soon, the story came to the end. As any movie involves boxing has to nod to movies like the Raging Bull and so on, while it does borrow too much from them. Boxing is not the point of the film. It's about life, about peace. The story began as Danny excising in prison even though he was going to be set free. I've seen so many films about life in jail. It is odd, cold, scared, painful… It does a lot to the boxer, an ex-terrorist, who made up his mind to keep fight and teach boxing in the community. Then he gave up the opportunity to box in London just as others' dreams to be the champion. Just as he said that he missed the boat. He stayed for Peace, for Love, for Life. It's his home, his neighborhood, he knew there well. Things already changed after 14 years in jail. His ex-girlfriend, Maggie, had been married and had got a son. Something more bothering was Harry and the troubles came with it. Harry insisted on killing Danny who opened the gym and showed friendly to the British. Danny went to London and fought but gave it up as the champion was just inches away. What he needed to do was just gave the rival, who cannot stand on his feet, a fight. He didn't. That's enough. He got a prove and it mattered little who got the champion. It made Harry angry again and again. Danny's trainer, Ike, was killed by Harry. Power, honor, revenge, freedom, or really peace, or something else? All shit. To complex to find out why those guys, IRA and the British, fight against. Similar movies you may be interested in are In the Name of the Father( also directed by Jim Sheridan) and the Wind that Shakes the Barley. More details about The Boxer

Body Heat

Just as the tagline "It's a hot summer", it is hot. The lawyer was no more reasonable and lost himself when he met the pretty and talented woman. As they had fucked together he thought it 's his destiny to stay with her and planned to kill her "husband". In fact, it's just a trap. It was too late when he found he would be killed by the bomb set already. Even though he thought it is a trick, he had nothing to do but just told Oscar- his close friend who tried to help him out. It might be a little cool in jail when he received the alumni. More details

Here we go!

There's something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You can never quite tell where they will take you. Mine took me here.
Here we go!
