Trivial

It wasn't because we were brave, but because we had no choice.
Our freedom was all that mattered.
If war produce one thing. It's many cemeteries. And in cemeteries there are no enemies.
Nothing happens without cause.

A Failure of Imagination

From the Earth to the Moon(1998): it took human beings years of time to make the dream coming true. Large amounts of money, labors, geniuses were put on that. Meantime, some lost their life. They paid too much on them.
Apollo One caught a fire and three astronauts died. It should have been avoided, but because a failure of imagination. No one thought that the spacefight would burn out on the ground, but it did explored. They learned much from the tragedy.
Ideas are the most valuable the world, whether you agree or not. That's my two cents.

FW: Who Gave Me the Ears?

"Can I see my baby?" the happy new mother asked.
When the bundle was nestled in her arms and she moved the fold of cloth to look upon his tiny face, she gasped. The doctor turned quickly and looked out the tall hospital window. The baby had been born without ears.
Time proved that the baby's hearing was perfect. It was only his appearance that was marred. When he rushed home from school one day and flung himself into his mother's arms, she sighed, knowing that his life was to be a succession of heartbreaks.
He blurted out the tragedy. "A boy, a big boy...called me a freak."
He grew up, handsome for his misfortune. A favorite with his fellow students, he might have been class president, but for that. He developed a gift, a talent for literature and music.
"But you might mingle with other young people," his mother reproved him, but felt a kindness in her heart.
The boy's father had a session with the family physician... "Could nothing be done?"
"I believe I could graft on a pair of outer ears, if they could be procured," the doctor decided. Whereupon the search began for a person who would make such a sacrifice for a young man.
Two years went by. One day, his father said to the son, "You're going to the hospital, son. Mother and I have someone who will donate the ears you need. But it's a secret."
The operation was a brilliant success, and a new person emerged. His talents blossomed into genius, and school and college became a series of triumphs.
Later he married and entered the diplomatic service. One day, he asked his father, "Who gave me the ears? Who gave me so much? I could never do enough for him or her."
"I do not believe you could," said the father, "but the agreement was that you are not to know...not yet."
The years kept their profound secret, but the day did come. One of the darkest days that ever pass through a son. He stood with his father over his mother's casket. Slowly, tenderly, the father stretched forth a hand and raised the thick, reddish brown hair to reveal the mother had no outer ears.
"Mother said she was glad she never let her hair be cut," his father whispered gently, "and nobody ever thought mother less beautiful, did they?"
PS I don't think it a true story but I believe the Mom is beautiful.

FW: How to Be a Successful Language Learner?

"Learning a language is easy. Even a child can do it!" Most adults who are learning a second language would disagree with this statement. For them, learning a language is a very difficult task. They need hundreds of hours of study and practice, and even this will no guarantee success for every adult language learner.
Language learning is different from other kinds of learning. Some people who are very intelligent and successful in their fields find it difficult to succeed in language learning. Conversely, some people who are successful language learners find it difficult to succeed in other fields.
Language teachers often offer advice to language learners: "Read as much as you can in the new language." "Practice speaking the language every day." "Live with people who speak the language." "Don't translate - try to think in the new language." "Learn as a child would learn; play with the language."
But what does a successful language learner do? Language learning research shows that successful language learners are similar in many ways.
First of all, successful language learners are independent learners. They do not depend on the book or the teacher; they discover their own way to learn the language, Instead of waiting for the teacher to explain, they try to find the patterns and the rules for themselves. They are good guessers who look for clues and form their own conclusions. When they guess wrong, they guess again. They try to learn from their mistakes.
Successful language learning is active learning. Therefore, Successful learners do not wait for a chance to use the language; they look for such a chance. They find people who speak the language and they ask these people to correct them when they make a mistake. They will try anything to communicate. They are not afraid to repeat what they hear or to say strange things; they are willing to make mistakes and try again. When communication is difficult, they can accept information what is inexact or incomplete. It is more important for them to learn to think in the language than to know the meaning of very word.
Finally, successful language learners are learners with a purpose. They want to learn the language because they are interested in the language and the people who speak it. It is necessary for them to learn the language in order to communicate with these people and to learn from them. They find it easy to practice using the language regularly because they want to learn with it.
What kind of language learner are you? If you are a successful language learner, you have probably been learning independently, actively, and purposefully. On the other hand, if your language learning has been less than successful, you might do well to try some of the techniques outlined above.

Love in the Afternoon (1957)

One film about True Love. A four-man band played an important in the film, such a romantic one. Audrey Hepburn, the daughter of a dective, helps a rich one escape from death and falls in love with him. It is a wonderful stroy about love. Hepburn is good at showing her kindheart in such kind movie. I like it. It's amazing such a black-and-white film has a color post. Sometimes such one gives more emphersis on the story itself than the color ones which attract people mainly on the scene or the colorful world.

IMAX - Adrenaline Rush

"Adrenaline Rush" explores the innards of risk taking in a wide and spectacular way. From the "explosive" science and entrepreneurship of Alfred Nobel to a schoolboy's first day in class, from the boldness and determination of Henry Ford to the shy but affectionate sentiment of a teen for another, "Adrenaline Rush" brings us on a journey in the multidimensional world of risk, a world where progress of humankind or personal accomplishment aren't necessarily related to the scope or the nature of the endeavor.
"Adrenaline Rush" also teaches us that humanity can benefit from the unexpected and combined efforts of two very different risk takers whose minds meet across half a millennium and across the boundaries of the Old and New Worlds, as we witness the experiment of Leonardo Da Vinci's notorious parachute by Adrian Nicholas, world's most respected skydiver and inventor in his own right, monitored closely by Salford scientists who seek answers on critical and life pertaining matters. Incidentally, "Adrenaline Rush" doesn't hesitate to explain scientific concepts in simple words. From the soaring and breathtaking cliffs of Norway to the calm and inspiring immensity of the Mojave Desert, from Thomas Edison's laboratory to a simple American schoolyard, "Adrenaline Rush" is more than a thrilling visual experience, it's an invitation to explore our inner selves and a statement that there is no such thing as having little courage.

Pieces of April (2003)

It is one simple story about a lovely girl with a funny name April. She's preparing dinner for her family who came to her apartment and had a check of April's new boyfriend, a poor guy who was kicked by April's exboyfriend on his way back.

Infamous (2006)

It is a different version of the same stroy with the earlier "Capote" and somebody thinks it difficult to compare "Infamous" with it.
" It's funny. It made him. He never wrote anything big again just collections, fragments put together. God knows he didn't have to write. After all he had enough money in Cold Blood."
Trueman Capote was a little man who was often thouht to be a lady or a sissy exactly when you heard the voice. He was a special one who had his way to get familiar with people he wanna catch. That might be why he made his success. By his genius, he developed a close relationship with the twoe muder suspects. That made him. I do not care what ruined him. All I need is that. That's enouth.

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

Happyness not happiness, it was just a misspelled on the wall of a kindergarten which was operated by Miss Zhu. Chris Gardner (by Will Smith) and his son Christopher (by Jaden Smith) will tell you what the heck happiness really is. It is intersting that Jaden Smith is like in the film the son of Will Smith. This father and son give their show.
Chirs is a saleman struggling for his life with his son and his wife who cannot bear such a life any more leaves them off. He, a smart guy, wins again and agian, successfully becoming a broker. That will truly change his life and of course his son's. The process of pursuit of happiness is more improtant than the success. His son and he know what the happiness is. They are kicked off from the rent house and then the motel. He has to take Christopher the subway WC and spend the night there. He catches up with the bus in a hurry and lines up in front of the charity origanizations for help. He suffers much and he tries to keep Christopher from them. Such a talented guy makes it.
All I know is that every has one's life and its different. So does the happiness.
